Quick story ... we were planning on getting induced at 7:00 am on Wednesday, June 30th. We got a call at 5:00am that the hospital was too crowded and there wasn't a bed available and they would call us back at 9:00am. We called at 9:00 and nothing yet, so since our parents were here, we decided to all go out to breakfast. Finally at 11:30 they called and said we could come on down! We got there and checked in by 1:00 and they started pitocin at 1:30. Labor wasn't progressing fast enough, so they upped the pitocin. I started getting some painful contractions around 3:30 and decided to get the epidural at 4:00. We killed time by watching my favorite movies - the Back to the Future trilogy. We only got through one and two, but while watching two, everyone that came in stopped to watch the movie. Even our doctor sat down to do some paperwork and ended up watching 15 minutes of the movie with us, before a nurse came in and said she needed him. Around 6:00 baby was ready to come out! After a few pushes they go the doc and she was born a few minutes later. She was perfect!! And looked A LOT like Addie when she was born. It was a wonderful, amazing experience and we feel very lucky that every thing went as smoothly as it did.
It was so great to have our parents there too! And Addison was able to hang out in the room before she was born (left during delivery) and she returned almost immediately after she was born. She took to Jessica right away and kept looking at her and kissing her and wanting to hold her. It was so sweet! I can't believe we now have two beautiful daughters.
